PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Otto Hauser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mason Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Otto Hauser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Mason Hill!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hauser. Hauser obviously looking to wear him down.
Hill blocks a head kick by Hauser.
Hauser works the jab nicely.

Hauser throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Hill stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Hauser follows into mount!


Hill is rocked!


It looks like Mason Hill has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hauser throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Hill is still in real trouble! Can Hauser finish him?
Hill is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Hauser tries to control but Hill wriggling away.
Hill seems to have recovered his senses.

Hill avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hauser.
Hauser throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hill because Hauser loaded up on that one.
Hauser looking to ground and pound but Hill is blocking nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hauser wants to control the pace but Hill is squirming around nicely.
Hauser thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Hill suckers Hauser into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Hill is now in Hauser's guard!
Hill has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hauser is proving hard to escape from.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hauser looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hill is one step ahead there.
Hill trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hauser's guard.
Hauser is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hauser is trying to control. Hill wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hauser with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hill avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hauser.
Hauser throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hauser thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hauser misses with a head shot. Hill uses the momentum to regain guard.
Hauser trying to move into half guard but instead Hill has managed to sweep!

Hill is looking to stand up but Hauser won't let him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hill wants to stand and escape but instead Hauser has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Hauser looking to sit in guard and control but Hill gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hill trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hauser's guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Hauser tries to strike from the bottom.
Hill postures up.
Hill wants to get up but he can't break Hauser's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hauser lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hauser loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Otto Hauser dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mason Hill's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hill misses with a jab to the body
and Hauser counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hill's knee momentarily.
Hauser looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hauser connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Hill will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hauser lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Hill throws a sloppy head kick and Hauser moves out of range easily.
That kick from Hauser tenderised Hill's leg. Hill is trying to keep his angry face on.
Hill walks straight into a right hand from Hauser - that's dropped him! Hauser jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Hill from any more punishment! Hill complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Otto Hauser!
