Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carlton Leach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrell James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James has chosen Numb as his entrance music. Terrell James has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Carlton Leach's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlton Leach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Terrell James!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leach slaps away a takedown attempt from James, before circling back to the center of the mat.
James shoots in looking for a takedown. Leach tries to sprawl out of it but James keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Leach manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
James takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Leach moves into range and connects with a jab.
Leach leaves James with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

And James tries to counter it with a takedown but Leach pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Leach is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Leach is looking to regain half guard here but James keeps moving and retains side control.

James is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Leach is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

James takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Leach is staying active underneath James, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
James slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Leach knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for James on the ground.

James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Leach throws out the jab.

James closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Leach's guard.

James drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Leach manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now James has Leach in his guard.

Leach really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
James is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Leach will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
James is looking to advance position but Leach has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
James wants to control but Leach is keeping busy and won't allow it.

James has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth.

James regains full guard. Nicely done.

Leach trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

James's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
James shoots in for a takedown but Leach shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

It looks like Terrell James has been cut.

James dives in and scores a takedown into Leach's guard.
Leach keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Carlton Leach will probably get the nod.

Carlton Leach is winning the standup battle so far.
Leach ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with James's jaw. James's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Leach does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Carlton Leach!
