Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Beltshazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Morris's choice of entrance music: Prong - Snap your fingers, snap your neck. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Matt Morris was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Beltshazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Morris!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beltshazar misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Morris.
Beltshazar throws a right hand that Morris ducks under and follows up with a left that Morris also avoids with ease.
Morris thinks about the counter body kick.
Beltshazar staying out of range there.
Good standup being displayed there by Beltshazar as he connects with a hook.
Beltshazar definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Beltshazar lands with a hook. Morris tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


Morris is rocked!
Beltshazar swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Morris counters with a shoot takedown. Beltshazar fights it but they end up in guard.
Morris pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Beltshazar is keeping the position for now.
Morris in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Morris throws a big right hand that misses.
Beltshazar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Morris throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beltshazar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Morris stops Beltshazar from standing up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Morris's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Beltshazar connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Morris scrambles back to his feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Morris or perhaps it was just good defense by Beltshazar, which made it look bad.
Some wild striking there from Beltshazar.
Beltshazar throws an off balance right hand

and Morris counters by clinching up.

Morris misses with an elbow over the top.
Morris misses with a punch on the inside.
Beltshazar lands a body shot in the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Beltshazar.
Morris prevents Beltshazar from breaking the clinch.
Morris misses with a short punch on the inside.
Beltshazar prevents a takedown attempt there.

Morris manages to break the clinch.
Ryan Beltshazar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Beltshazar lands a big uppercut and Morris crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Morris looks OK. Beltshazar waves Morris back to his feet!
Morris is still on wobbly legs! Can Beltshazar finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Beltshazar throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Beltshazar cracks Morris with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Morris looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Beltshazar finish him?

Beltshazar cracks Morris with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ryan Beltshazar!
After the fight, Ryan Beltshazar was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
The defeated Matt Morris had this to say: 'I'll be back, sorry to disappoint my fans!'.
