Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Crocota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renzo Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Crocota!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie stuffs the takedown attempt from Crocota. Crocota gets slowly back to his feet.

Crocota shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gracie's guard.
Gracie looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Crocota keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gracie's head.
Crocota is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control.

Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Crocota is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gracie Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Crocota's back instead.
Crocota trying to control the position but Gracie manages to sink in the hooks.

Gracie is persistently looking for the submission but Crocota is defending it well.

Gracie working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crocota wants to control his opponent's hands but Gracie gets his hands free.

Gracie doesn't have the hooks in and Crocota manages to turn into his guard.

Gracie has his foot on Crocota's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Crocota works his way back into a safe position though.
Crocota distracts Gracie with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Crocota trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Crocota postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Crocota is stalling in the full guard.
Crocota wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.

Crocota drops back looking for a leg! Gracie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gracie manages to kick Crocota off! Crocota jumps back into Gracie's guard.
Crocota looks gassed!

Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gracie is working for a kimura but Crocota is defending it quite comfortably.

Crocota is defending against the submission attempts here by Gracie.

Gracie is trying to work for a kimura but Crocota is defending well.
Gracie blocks the strikes from Crocota.

Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Crocota knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Crocota trying to hold on to Gracie's head to control him but Gracie postures up.

Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Crocota shoots in and bounces Gracie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Crocota from controlling successfully.
Crocota must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Crocota defends easily.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Crocota can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Renzo Gracie dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Crocota darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Crocota is tying to control. Gracie wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Renzo Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gracie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Gracie actively working from the bottom here.
Gracie regains full guard. Nicely done.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Crocota postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Gracie wants to sweep here but Crocota controlling him for the moment.

Gracie has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Crocota is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gracie.

Gracie is trying to get back to half guard.
Gracie manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Crocota is trying to maintain the position but Gracie is very close to passing his half guard.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Crocota is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Crocota trying to control but Gracie postures up.
Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Crocota is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Gracie frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Gracie looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Gracie is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Crocota can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Gracie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Crocota manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Crocota gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gracie frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Crocota tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Gracie is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Crocota can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Renzo Gracie dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Crocota gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Crocota can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Gracie seems to be working for a kimura but Crocota defends the submission attempt.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Crocota still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Crocota has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Crocota scores with a couple of short elbows.

Crocota working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gracie is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Gracie moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Crocota can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Crocota stands up over Gracie, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a triangle. Crocota throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gracie's body to avoid the submission. Gracie has instead reached around Crocota's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gracie arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
