Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Angel Finley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Work (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aaron Work has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Angel Finley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Work!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Work gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Finley is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Work to keep the fight standing.
Work doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Finley manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Work trying to move into half guard but instead Finley has managed to sweep!

Finley content to stall in guard here.

Work working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Finley has passed into half guard!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Work wants to control but Finley is keeping busy.

Work is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Finley jumps into side control!
Work looks winded!
Finley lands some shots froms side control.

Finley looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Work looks to move to half guard but instead Finley has passed into mount! Damn!

Work throwing hammer fists to the chest of Finley. What's that going to do exactly?
Work wants to hold on but Finley pushes him away.

Finley swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Work is now in Finley's guard. A big mistake from Finley there, giving up the dominant position!
Work works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Finley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Finley actively working from the bottom here.
Finley is looking for a sweep. Work is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Work missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Work wants to pass the guard but Finley is defending well.
Finley really is a fat lump.
Finley is in trouble now - Work has advanced to mount!
Finley sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Finley is refusing to be controlled, as Work sits in half guard.

Finley on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Work is trying to control the action in half guard but Finley is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Work thows a huge punch but Finley dodges it nicely.

Work prevents Finley from standing back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Angel Finley will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Work drives through with a takedown into guard.

Finley looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Work is stalling in the full guard.
Work wants to control from the top but Finley keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Finley is on top in guard.

Finley throws an elbow that misses. Work uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Finley's guard. Nice move by Work!

Work is breathing heavily.
Finley working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Work.
Finley throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Work postures up in Finley's guard and throws a big left but Finley blocks it.

Finley looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Work lands a couple of digs.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Finley throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Work has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Finley is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Work pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Work looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Finley!
Work tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Finley regains half guard, as Work was trying to land strikes.

Work trying to control from Finley's half guard. Finley has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Finley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Work doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Work manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Finley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Work is one step ahead there.

Work wanted to stand there but Finley had control of the position.

Aaron Work showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Finley clinches with his opponent.
Finley tries to pull guard but Work won't allow it.
Work is looking to control Finley's arms but Finley gets an underhook and turns him. Now Work has his back to the cage.
Work misses with a hook to the ribs.

Work pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Work looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Finley!

Finley is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Work asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Work looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Finley gets back to half guard.
Work takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Finley gets back to full guard.
Work trying to control the position from guard on top but Finley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Finley looking for subs off his back but Work has passed one foot through into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Work sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Finley defending well though.
Work trying to control from Finley's half guard. Finley has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Work postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Finley is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Work, into his guard.

Work not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well Work has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
