Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mian Talha Irman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mian Talha Irman!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Chris Dean and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Irman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hansen blocks the body kick.

Irman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hansen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Irman is in Hansen's guard.
Hansen is pulling down on Irman's head to control his posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Irman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hansen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Irman is still trying to improve position.
Irman should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Hansen has his hands on Irman's head, controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hansen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hansen is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Irman clinches up against the cage.
Irman has had enough of the clinch but Hansen keeps him there for the moment.

Hansen pulls guard.
Irman preventing the sweep.

Hansen managing to control the position.
Hansen keeping moving, preventing Irman from controlling successfully.

Hansen uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Hansen doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Irman counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Irman fails in his attempt to clinch.
As Irman looks to move away, Hansen throws a big counter combo bu Irman just gets out of the way.

Hansen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hansen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hansen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Irman's shoulder. That is not cool.

Hansen decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Hansen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A lazy body kick from Irman
and Hansen counters with a left and a right that stings Irman.

Hansen tries to sprawl but Irman drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Irman looks winded!
Hansen controlling the position for now.
Hansen is refusing to be controlled, as Irman sits in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hansen is positioning himself well to prevent Irman advancing to mount.
Irman trying to mount his opponent but Hansen defends it.
Hansen is doing well to control the position and prevent Irman from advancing to side control.
Hansen moves into full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hansen is pulling down on Irman's head. It's preventing any offense from Irman, at least for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Aaron Hansen will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Irman shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hansen napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Hansen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hansen moves into full guard.
Irman is fighting to break Hansen's control of his arms but Hansen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hansen continues to stall.

Hansen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Irman manages to get himself to full guard.

Hansen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Hansen drops back looking for a leg! Irman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Irman manages to kick Hansen off! Hansen jumps back into Irman's guard.
Hansen content to stall in guard here.
Hansen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Irman for as long as he can get away with.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hansen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Hansen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Irman's half guard.
Irman is breathing heavily.
Irman trying to get back to full guard but Hansen takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Irman is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Hansen locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Irman is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Aaron Hansen!
