The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mackenzie throws a sloppy head kick
and Mackenzie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Patterson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Patterson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
You can see the frustration on Mackenzie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Mackenzie tries to buck Patterson off but Patterson is having none of it.
Mackenzie stops Patterson from passing to mount.
Patterson lands a decent elbow from side control.

Patterson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Patterson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A big shot lands for Patterson! That's hurt Mackenzie! Will he recover? Patterson fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
