Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Spencer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spencer closes the distance looking to clinch

and Patterson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Spencer!
Patterson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Spencer prevents Patterson from moving into mount.
Spencer tries to bench press Patterson off him but Patterson keeps the position.

Patterson tries to advance to mount but Spencer denies him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Spencer stops Patterson from passing to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Patterson is trying to get an arm triangle but Spencer is defending well.

Patterson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Spencer!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Patterson has isolated one of Spencer's arms. Spencer looking to fight him off but Patterson twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
