Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Javier Gattuso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hitmon Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gattuso's entrance music is WAR-Low Rider. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gattuso ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lee moves away.
Gattuso throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Gattuso fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lee.
A clash of legs there as Gattuso blocks the low kick.
Lee lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Lee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A big right from Gattuso misses.
Lee shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gattuso but Gattuso pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gattuso ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lee has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lee steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gattuso.
Lee missing with a left hand there. Gattuso was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gattuso connects with a good right hand that stumbles Lee. Lee circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Gattuso has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Gattuso pushes Lee off and scrambles back to his feet.
Hitmon Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee feints and then cracks Gattuso's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gattuso down.
Gattuso thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Lee if he has to take too many more of those.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lee fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Gattuso closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Gattuso throws a leg kick but Lee sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Gattuso throws a nice looking combination but Lee bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lee tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Lee moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
A slow jab from Gattuso misses its intended target.
Lee drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Gattuso defends it well.

Lee throws a head kick that half lands.
The fighters circling - Gattuso throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Gattuso lands a nice leg kick that just misses Lee's sensitive parts.
Gattuso avoids the head kick by Lee.
Good work by Lee as he checks the leg kick.
Lee walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Lee's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gattuso connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lee scrambles back to his feet.
Gattuso misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lee swings for the body but Gattuso moves out of range.
Gattuso throws a looping overhand right but Lee ducks down to avoid it.
Lee scores with the left hand. Gattuso knows he should have avoided that one.

Lee swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gattuso throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lee sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gattuso manages to avoid it.
Gattuso leaves Lee with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A decent looking cross lands there for Lee.
Gattuso throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gattuso throws a leg kick but Lee sees it coming and moves out of range.

Lee changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lee sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Gattuso doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Lee paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Gattuso - great work!
