Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khadzhimurat Gatsalov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin has chosen REMIX Turn Down as his entrance music. Amir Griffin acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Khadzhimurat Gatsalov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Amir Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gatsalov closes the distance and pushes Griffin back into the cage.
Gatsalov lands a nice uppercut.
Griffin drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gatsalov pulls his leg out and moves away.
Griffin takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gatsalov lands a nice shot to the body.
Gatsalov throws a leg kick that is checked

and Griffin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gatsalov's guard.

Gatsalov is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Gatsalov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Griffin manages to get himself to full guard.

Gatsalov in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Griffin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gatsalov is in close to Griffin's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Gatsalov content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Gatsalov wants to control from the top but Griffin keeps moving.
Gatsalov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Griffin has an active guard here but Gatsalov has managed to pass into half guard.

Griffin is not content to let Gatsalov control the position.
Gatsalov misses with a head shot. Griffin uses the momentum to regain guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gatsalov is looking to work some ground and pound but Griffin has wrist control.

Griffin can't keep his opponent in guard - Gatsalov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Gatsalov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Gatsalov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Griffin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gatsalov.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gatsalov is trying to control the action in half guard but Griffin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gatsalov dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Griffin. That did some damage!
Griffin has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Gatsalov looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gatsalov's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Griffin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gatsalov is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Gatsalov moves into the clinch successfully.
Griffin misses with a hook from the clinch.
Griffin wants a takedown but no success here.
Gatsalov stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Gatsalov.
Gatsalov lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Griffin.
Griffin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Gatsalov pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Gatsalov pushes Griffin back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Gatsalov prevents the takedown attempt.
Khadzhimurat Gatsalov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amir Griffin.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Gatsalov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Griffin can do to turn this around?
Gatsalov lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Gatsalov misses with a punch to the body.
Griffin tries for a takedown. No joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gatsalov has clasped his hands together around Griffin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gatsalov is putting a hurting on Griffin here, landing some big shots from side control.

Gatsalov connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Griffin some visible discomfort.

Gatsalov working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Gatsalov is staying tight to Griffin's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Gatsalov creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Griffin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Gatsalov misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Gatsalov in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Griffin throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Gatsalov wants to stand but Griffin is controlling his arm.
Griffin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gatsalov asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Gatsalov misses with the ground and pound.
Gatsalov has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Griffin is in a horrible position here. Gatsalov smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Griffin sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Griffin makes his way to full guard, as Gatsalov worked for a kimura.
Gatsalov trying to control but Griffin is working from the bottom.
Gatsalov controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gatsalov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Griffin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gatsalov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Griffin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gatsalov has managed to get both his arms back between Griffin's legs - danger averted.
Gatsalov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Griffin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gatsalov lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Gatsalov is posturing up here but Griffin has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Gatsalov tries to roll out but it's too tight and Gatsalov has to tap! Slick submission there by Griffin!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Amir Griffin!
Amir Griffin took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I am retiring after this fight so thanks to everyone I will miss all of you Cheers!'.
