Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roger Baumgartner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Howard Stern (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stern is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Great American Nightmare. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roger Baumgartner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Howard Stern!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stern wants to clinch.
Baumgartner connects with a leg kick. Stern looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Baumgartner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stern moves away.
Baumgartner avoids the head kick by Stern.
Stern throws a half hearted mid kick.
Baumgartner has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Victory Gym and Spa in the buildup to the fight.
Stern connects with a high kick.


It looks like Roger Baumgartner has been cut.
Baumgartner goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Stern tries to clinch
and Baumgartner counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Stern misses with a double jab
and Baumgartner counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baumgartner walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Good exchange - Stern coming out on top.
Baumgartner slips a jab and a cross from Stern.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Stern takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Stern lands a big right hand that sends Baumgartner crashing to the mat! Stern stays standing though and waves Baumgartner back to his feet!

Stern darts in looking for a takedown but Baumgartner gets double underhooks and turns Stern into the cage.
Oh Baumgartner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stern takes one to the chin there.
Baumgartner seems to have got his legs back now.
Baumgartner lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Baumgartner bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stern misses with an uppercut
and Baumgartner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Stern wants to clinch
and Stern takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Stern closes the distance looking to clinch
and Baumgartner makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Baumgartner shoots in looking for a takedown. Stern tries to sprawl out of it but Baumgartner keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stern manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Baumgartner lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Stern throws a head kick but Baumgartner moves out of range.
Baumgartner lands with an uppercut that bounces Stern off the cage and back into range.
Stern tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Baumgartner counters with a nice uppercut.
Baumgartner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stern cracks Baumgartner with a right hand to the side of the head.

Stern moves into the clinch.
Baumgartner fails to pull guard.
Baumgartner has Stern pushed against the cage.
Stern tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Stern misses with a knee to the head.
Baumgartner lands with a short shot to the head.
Stern pressing his opponent against the cage.
Stern has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Baumgartner after a bit of a struggle.

Baumgartner avoids a wild elbow strike from Stern.
Baumgartner can't find room to land a body shot as Stern controls the action.
Stern tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Baumgartner goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Stern fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Baumgartner stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Baumgartner creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Baumgartner is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stern is aware though and is defending well.

Baumgartner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stern defends well.
Stern tries to free his leg and advance position but Baumgartner is retaining full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Roger Baumgartner will probably get the nod.

Stern gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Baumgartner will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Stern up against the cage.
Stern lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Baumgartner tries to pull guard but Stern holds him up against the cage and eventually Baumgartner drops back down to his feet.

Stern lands a left hand that snaps the head of Baumgartner backwards.

Baumgartner has clasped his hands together around Stern's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Roger Baumgartner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Stern is looking for a sweep. Baumgartner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Baumgartner is looking to take a break and control but Stern is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Baumgartner working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Baumgartner has the hooks in. Stern is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Baumgartner passes his arm under Stern's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Stern taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Roger Baumgartner!
Roger Baumgartner was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
In defeat, Howard Stern stepped up to the mic, saying 'I blame Robin and those big G's.'.
