Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dolph Kruger Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kruger Jr has chosen Kung Fu Fighting as his entrance music. Dolph Kruger Jr has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gustavo Dawson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gustavo Dawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dolph Kruger Jr!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dawson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kruger Jr's half guard.

Kruger Jr kicks off Dawson and gets to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kruger Jr is defended easily by Dawson.
Kruger Jr tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dawson swivels and escapes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dawson shoots in and bounces Kruger Jr off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Dawson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kruger Jr works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dawson shoots for a takedown but Kruger Jr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kruger Jr replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Dawson blocks it well.
Dawson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kruger Jr defends it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dawson dives in for a single leg takedown but Kruger Jr sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kruger Jr replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Dawson blocks it well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gustavo Dawson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kruger Jr tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dawson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Kruger Jr darts in looking for a takedown but Dawson gets double underhooks and turns Kruger Jr into the cage.
Dawson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kruger Jr looks winded!

Kruger Jr throws Dawson to one side and escapes!
Kruger Jr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kruger Jr wants it to stay on the feet.

and Kruger Jr makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Dawson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dawson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kruger Jr's head.

Kruger Jr makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kruger Jr misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gustavo Dawson will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kruger Jr lands with a slapping head kick.
Dawson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kruger Jr avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dawson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kruger Jr is fending him off so far but Dawson persists. Nope, Kruger Jr circles away and we're back to standing.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Kruger Jr is breathing heavily.

Dawson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Dawson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kruger Jr is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Dawson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Dawson gets control of Kruger Jr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dawson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dawson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dawson is looking to stand up but Kruger Jr isn't so interested in that idea.
Dawson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kruger Jr manages to get himself to full guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Dawson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kruger Jr tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dawson is in Kruger Jr's guard.

Kruger Jr wants to stand but Dawson is controlling the position.
Kruger Jr is looking to sweep but instead, Dawson has passed into half guard.
Dawson winds up and cracks Kruger Jr with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Kruger Jr looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dawson connects with a nice short shot to Kruger Jr's temple.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Gustavo Dawson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dawson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
