Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Split Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masahiko Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Split Rush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Masahiko Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rush scores with a takedown into Kimura's guard.
Rush definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kimura trying to keep a closed guard but Rush is proving a slippery customer.
Rush stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kimura swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rush chips away with some ground and pound.
Kimura is trying to control the position but Rush postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kimura can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rush controls the pace.

Rush stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kimura swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kimura lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Rush feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Rush defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Kimura's arms.

Kimura is trying to stick to Rush's back but Rush is turning into Kimura. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Kimura's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rush.

Rush looking to sit in guard and control but Kimura gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kimura bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rush's guard.

Split Rush showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rush has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
