Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zach Didion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Lance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zach Didion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leon Lance!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Didion showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lance.
Sloppy strikes from Lance. Those never looked like landing.
Lance cracks Didion with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Didion dodges the punch combination from Lance.
Nice body punch from Didion.
Didion shoots in for a takedown but Lance shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lance scores with a jab to the jaw.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Didion.
Lance throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lance scores with a crisp jab that stopped Didion in his tracks.
Lance looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Didion drives through with a takedown into Lance's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Didion wants to stand but Lance is controlling his posture from full guard.
Didion wants to control from the top but Lance keeps moving.

Didion advances to half guard.

Didion seems to be working for a kimura but Lance defends the submission attempt.

Didion is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lance doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Didion.
Didion is looking to take a break and control but Lance is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Didion is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lance has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Didion is working away from the top position though.
Lance is looking to improve his position.

Didion is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lance sees it coming and defends easily.
Lance wants to improve his position but Didion is controlling well.

Lance is refusing to be controlled, as Didion sits in half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Lance gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Didion to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Lance looking to hit a scissor sweep but Didion is one step ahead there.
Didion is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at [LOD]Berlin Giants that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Didion has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lance is proving hard to escape from.

Didion wants to control from the top but Lance keeps moving.
Didion slips nicely into half guard.

Didion is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Didion is thwarting Lance's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Zach Didion will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Lance enables Didion to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lance manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Zach Didion overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Didion controlling from the top position.

Didion gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Didion dodges the punch combination from Lance.
Lance looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Lance's corner calls for a 1-2. Lance obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Didion throws a hook to the side of Lance's head but Lance sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lance misses with an uppercut. Didion saw that one coming.
Didion paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Didion drives through and clinches with Lance against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lance regains full guard. Nicely done.

Didion pushing down on Lance's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Didion is controlling the pace.
Didion wants to pass the guard but Lance is defending well.

Didion is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lance is just riding it out for now. Didion eventually gives up the hold.

Didion shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Lance has his hands on Didion's head, controlling the position.
Didion is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lance is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lance is looking to pass Didion's guard but actually Didion recovers to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Lance is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Lance ducks right into an uppercut from Didion.
Didion slips a jab and a cross from Lance.

Didion moves into the clinch.
Didion lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lance or not.

Didion's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Zach Didion is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lance throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Didion.
Lance connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Nice defenses there by Didion.
Lance keeps the fight on the outside.

Didion drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lance keeping moving, preventing Didion from controlling successfully.

Lance uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Didion ducks under a wild hook from Lance.
Didion tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Lance manages to circle out of the way.
Lance doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Didion tries to clinch but Lance moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lance. Didion does a little dance to reset his feet.

Lance swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Didion misses the shot to the body.
Lance looks to score with a jab to the body but Didion is just out of range.

Zach Didion is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
A big right from Lance misses.
Lance lunges at Didion with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Didion's hand.
Lance lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Didion throws a head kick that misses.
Lance looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Didion shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Didion trying to control from half guard but Lance is working away.
Didion is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lance is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Lance is looking for a sweep. Didion is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Leon Lance has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lance makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lance.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Zach Didion.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Didion, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
