Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cadan Ness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Munoz has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Cadan Ness's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cadan Ness!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Munoz!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munoz checks a low kick from Ness.

Ness moves into the clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Ness.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Munoz lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Ness has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Munoz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Ness keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ness is trying to get back to full guard.

Munoz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Munoz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ness wants to control but Munoz is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Munoz takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Munoz looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ness with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Munoz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cadan Ness will probably get the nod.
That's time! Ness's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ness connects with a good right hand that stumbles Munoz. Munoz circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Munoz keeps the fight on the outside.
Mark Munoz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ness throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Munoz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Munoz closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ness is trying to keep Munoz in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Munoz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Munoz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Munoz closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ness is pressing down on Munoz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Munoz can't keep his opponent in guard - Ness advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ness is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Munoz is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Munoz is looking for a sweep. Ness is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

A close second round but Mark Munoz will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Ness sizes up Munoz with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
