Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Scot Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank McDougal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scot Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank McDougal!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McDougal rushes Sanchez and presses him up against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Sanchez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sanchez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
McDougal trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McDougal is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Sanchez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McDougal is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDougal wants to pass the guard but Sanchez is keeping the position.
McDougal wants to stand but Sanchez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

McDougal sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sanchez's guard.
McDougal tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
McDougal wants to take a breather but Sanchez is having none of it.
Sanchez wants to control but McDougal is keeping busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

McDougal dives in and scores a takedown into Sanchez's guard.
McDougal postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McDougal wants to get up but he can't break Sanchez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sanchez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Sanchez has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. McDougal is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
McDougal takes a shot to the head.

Sanchez manages to break the clinch.

McDougal closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McDougal lands in his opponent's guard.
Sanchez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sanchez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McDougal is controlling him.

McDougal trying to control but Sanchez is working from the bottom.
Sanchez has a closed guard, preventing McDougal from standing up.
McDougal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

McDougal wanted to stand there but Sanchez had control of the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
McDougal won't allow Sanchez to sweep him here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

McDougal moves into the clinch.

McDougal manages to pull guard.
McDougal is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sanchez is looking to work some ground and pound but McDougal has wrist control.
Sanchez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McDougal on the ground.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sanchez's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sanchez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

McDougal rushes Sanchez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank McDougal dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Sanchez closes the distance and clinches.

Sanchez is trying to break the clinch but McDougal has him pressed against the cage.

McDougal manages to break the clinch.

McDougal clinches up with Sanchez and pushes him back against the cage.

Sanchez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
An inside leg kick lands from McDougal.

McDougal shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McDougal showed some decent athleticism there.
Sanchez is looking to control McDougal's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sanchez avoid being mounted?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanchez is looking for a sweep. McDougal is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Sanchez gets full guard.
McDougal slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
McDougal tries to advance to mount but Sanchez denies him.
McDougal wants to control but Sanchez is keeping him busy.
Sanchez throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sanchez is looking for a sweep.
Sanchez wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Sanchez can't do much from the bottom here.
McDougal working the ground and pound.
Sanchez tries to get back to half guard but can't.

McDougal is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sanchez has escaped the position, nice work there.

McDougal trying to control the action but Sanchez is working from the bottom.

McDougal decides to stand back up.
Sanchez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Sanchez closes the distance and clinches.

Sanchez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

McDougal shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sanchez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
McDougal stops Sanchez from standing up.
McDougal throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
McDougal would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Sanchez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McDougal wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank McDougal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



McDougal feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sanchez is wriggling around but McDougal manages to pass to half guard.

Sanchez kicks off McDougal and gets to his feet.
Frank McDougal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDougal misses with a head kick.
A counter left hand to the body from Sanchez misses its target.

McDougal scores with a takedown into Sanchez's guard.
McDougal stops Sanchez from standing up.
McDougal trying to control but Sanchez is working from the bottom.

McDougal postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sanchez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McDougal, into his guard.

McDougal wants to get back to his feet but Sanchez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Frank McDougal has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sanchez throws an elbow that misses. McDougal uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sanchez's guard. Nice move by McDougal!

McDougal is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
McDougal wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.

Sanchez scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but McDougal manages to mount him!
McDougal has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
McDougal lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
McDougal moves to his opponent's back but Sanchez bucks him off and ends up in guard. A bit of a disaster there for McDougal.
McDougal is controlling Sanchez's posture.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McDougal manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sanchez manages to get himself to full guard.

McDougal looking to sit in guard and control but Sanchez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sanchez trying to control but McDougal is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sanchez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Scot Sanchez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Frank McDougal is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Frank McDougal comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McDougal has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
