Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Vardey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vardey has chosen savior as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Diaz showed some decent athleticism there.
Vardey looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Diaz wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Vardey uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Diaz gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Diaz takes a swing at Vardey's ribcage but misses.
Diaz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Vardey fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice jab there from Diaz.
It looks like Ryan Vardey has been cut.
Diaz gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Diaz lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Vardey backwards.
Diaz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Joey Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Diaz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Oooooh!!! Diaz has knocked Vardey down with a huge combo! Diaz steps away and waves a wobbly Vardey back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Vardey is rocked!
Diaz grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Vardey takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Diaz cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
