Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Latrell Spreewell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Blanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Latrell Spreewell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kurt Blanks!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spreewell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Blanks lands an elbow inside that Spreewell shrugs off.
Blanks digs a right hand underneath Spreewell's ribcage. Spreewell let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Spreewell turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Spreewell manages to end up in side control.

Spreewell creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Blanks sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Spreewell decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Blanks's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Blanks wants to get back to his feet but Spreewell is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Spreewell throws a strike but Blanks rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Spreewell will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Spreewell shoots for a double leg takedown but Blanks sprawls well. He's pushed Spreewell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Spreewell counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Blanks's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spreewell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Spreewell wants to stand but Blanks is controlling the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Blanks clinches up with Spreewell and pushes him back against the cage.
Spreewell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Blanks is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

You get the feeling that Blanks really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Blanks is bucking up trying to escape but Spreewell cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
