Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Mclean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wess West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roger Mclean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wess West!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mclean tries to close the distance and clinch up but West swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mclean has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Roger Mclean has been cut.
Mclean doesn't manage to clinch there - West circles away.
Mclean on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Mclean drives through with a takedown into West's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Mclean could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
West bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mclean's guard.

Mclean has a closed guard, preventing West from standing up.
Mclean might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mclean is on top in guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
West is trying to control the position from the bottom.
West wants to get back to his feet but Mclean is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

West wants to stand but Mclean is controlling the position.
West working a defensive guard but Mclean passes into half guard.
West is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mclean sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. West defending well though.
West is looking for a sweep. Mclean is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

West has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Mclean is on him like a limpet, forcing West back against the cage.
Mclean jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as West walks away with a smile on his face. Mclean gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mclean closes the distance and clinches.
Mclean jumps guard but West turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Mclean tries to pull guard but West forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Mclean. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mclean fails to pull guard.
Mclean is trying to pull guard but West has him pressed against the cage.

West's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
West thuds his right hand into Mclean's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mclean enables West to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mclean manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
West wants to control from the top but Mclean keeps moving.
Mclean has West pulled in close to control his posture.
West must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mclean can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as West controls the pace.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
West slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Mclean feints and as West raises his hands in defense, Mclean changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

West tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mclean postures up in West's guard and throws a big left but West blocks it.

West escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mclean gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mclean stops West from standing up.
West is wriggling around but Mclean manages to pass to half guard.
West works his way to full guard. Good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wess West dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Roger Mclean's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



West closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mclean tries to pull guard but West won't allow it.
Mclean is trying to pull guard but West has him pressed against the cage.

West breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Wess West has got the better of the ground game so far.

You get the feeling that West really doesn't like being in this position too much.

West tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mclean raining down shots from the mount!

West can't escape the position.
West has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

West is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
West is looking to improve his position but Mclean isn't that keen on the idea.
Mclean lands a nice shot to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
West tries to lock up and control but Mclean gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mclean lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Roger Mclean will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


West lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
West lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

West rushes Mclean and presses him up against the cage.

West pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mclean is looking to clinch but West is avoiding it.
Mclean circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mclean feinted with a counter takedown.

Mclean shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mclean was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
West looks to move to half guard but instead Mclean has passed into mount! Damn!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
West is trying desperately to improve position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
West wants to hold on but Mclean pushes him away.

Mclean has control of West's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and West regains control of the situation pretty easily.
West in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
West slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
West is looking to control Mclean's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can West avoid being mounted?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mclean working West over with strikes.
Mclean is keen to just control but West is a slippery customer.
West has a hand on Mclean's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Mclean takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
West keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
West is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
West squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Mclean breaks from West's wrist control and lands an elbow.
West is looking to improve his position but Mclean isn't that keen on the idea.
West is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

West bucks Mclean off and manages to get back to his feet!

Mclean scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

West is pushing Mclean's head away, looking to escape. Mclean manages to hold on to the position though.

Mclean tries for a kimura but West is defending well.
Mclean lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

West throws Mclean to one side and escapes!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
West connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mclean. Mclean circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
West tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

West closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mclean to the mat! Mclean manages to get full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Roger Mclean.
I think Mclean has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
