Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin Gutierrez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Shelby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shelby is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Red Right Hand. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gutierrez tries to keep at a distance but Shelby has taken the fight into the clinch.
Gutierrez wants to get back to striking at distance but Shelby won't allow it.
Shelby lands a nice elbow.

It looks like Benjamin Gutierrez has been cut.
Stalling in the clinch from Shelby.
Gutierrez is trying to push Shelby away but Shelby has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Shelby takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Gutierrez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Shelby gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Gutierrez regains guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shelby drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shelby jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Shelby sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gutierrez's guard.

Shelby wants to take a breather but Gutierrez is having none of it.
Gutierrez wants to control but Shelby is keeping busy.
Shelby passes the guard and advances to mount!
Gutierrez has given up his back. Will we see Shelby going for some submissions?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shelby has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Gutierrez has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
