The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farley throws a leg kick that is checked
and Rock counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Some bone on bone action there as Rock checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Farley tries a knee to the head but Rock blocks it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rock pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Arnoldo Farley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rock gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Farley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Farley thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rock's head.
Rock has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Farley is working away from the top position though.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Rock thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Rock stands up over Farley, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Farley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

I would just about give that final round to The Rock.
