Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marlon Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conner Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens misses with a double jab

and Murphy counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Murphy.
Murphy connects with a couple of short punches.
Murphy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Murphy is working Stevens over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Murphy throws a strike but Stevens rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Murphy will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Stevens up against the cage.

Murphy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Stevens is looking to break free of the clinch but Murphy has double underhooks.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Stevens looks to throw the jab but Murphy is out of range.

Stevens felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Stevens takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Murphy works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Murphy lands some shots froms side control.

Murphy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Murphy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Murphy throws a strike aimed at the side of Stevens's head but Stevens avoids it well.
Stevens tries to bench press Murphy off him but Murphy keeps the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Stevens just misses with a punch to the body.

Murphy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Murphy shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Stevens dives in and grabs Murphy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Murphy pushes down on Stevens's head and hops out.

Murphy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stevens was covering up waiting for the punch and Murphy finishes the takedown easily into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stevens has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Murphy is working away from the top position though.

and Murphy counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Murphy.

Murphy seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Marlon Murphy showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Murphy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
