PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rogerio Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Augusto Turolla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turolla has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Turolla looks gassed!
A punch combination from Turolla misses.
Turolla stuffs the takedown attempt from Santos. Santos gets slowly back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Santos looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Santos throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Turolla gets caught flat footed, as Santos shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Turolla uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Santos.
Santos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Turolla moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Santos fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Turolla, pushing him back against the cage.
Santos has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Turolla is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Santos goes for a takedown in the clinch but Turolla prevents it.

Santos jumps into guard, dragging Turolla to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Turolla really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Turolla wants to stand and escape but instead Santos has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Santos frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Turolla is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Santos wants to control the pace but Turolla is squirming around nicely.
Turolla can't escape the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Turolla moves into range and clinches up with Santos.
Santos is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Santos could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Santos drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Turolla gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Santos jumps guard.

Turolla is sitting in close to Santos's body. Santos has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Turolla is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Turolla is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Santos.
