The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Shaw.
Plouman stuffs the takedown.
Plouman with the counter takedown but Shaw avoids it easily.
Plouman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Shaw throws out the jab.
DJ Shaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shaw shoots in for a double leg but Plouman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Shaw misses with a takedown attempt

and Plouman counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Shaw!

Plouman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shaw is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Plouman has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Shaw is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Plouman yanks on the arm and Shaw is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Plouman.
