Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sean Juan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathieu Patrice Boulpiquante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mathieu Patrice Boulpiquante was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mathieu Patrice Boulpiquante!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boulpiquante fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Juan looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Juan seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Boulpiquante cracks Juan with a good jab.
Boulpiquante throws a head kick but Juan moves out of range.

Juan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Juan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Boulpiquante wants to control but Juan postures up.
Boulpiquante might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Juan haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Juan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Boulpiquante is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Juan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Boulpiquante to his feet.
Boulpiquante misses with a low kick.
Juan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Boulpiquante throws a low kick but it's checked well by Juan.
A looping hook to the body misses from Juan. Boulpiquante does a little dance to reset his feet.

Boulpiquante connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Juan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Juan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Juan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Boulpiquante has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Juan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Boulpiquante looking to hit a scissor sweep but Juan is one step ahead there.

Boulpiquante tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Juan tries to free his leg and advance position but Boulpiquante is retaining full guard.
Juan is working hard here to advance position.
Juan wants to control from the top but Boulpiquante keeps moving.
Juan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Boulpiquante's guard.

Juan seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Boulpiquante has recovered full guard.

Boulpiquante is working an open guard so Juan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Boulpiquante throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Juan moves out of range as Boulpiquante throws a body kick.
Juan takes a kick to the side of the head.

and Juan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Good leg kick by Boulpiquante there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Juan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Boulpiquante bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Juan's head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Juan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A little jabbing left from Boulpiquante on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Juan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Boulpiquante lands a leg kick that knocks Juan off balance momentarily.
Juan takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Juan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boulpiquante moves away.
A left and a right from Boulpiquante both land. Nice combination.

Juan is rocked!
Juan digs a good body shot into Boulpiquante's ribs.
Oh Juan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Juan looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Boulpiquante avoids the body shot from Juan.
Juan slips under a jab from Boulpiquante.
Boulpiquante uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Juan has time to react.
Juan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boulpiquante was well out of range. Poor timing from Juan.
Juan cracks Boulpiquante with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Juan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mathieu Patrice Boulpiquante will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A jab lands there for Boulpiquante.
Juan scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Juan takes a swing at Boulpiquante's ribcage but misses.
Juan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Juan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Juan looks up at the clock. Bad move! Boulpiquante lands a right hand from hell, dropping Juan. Boulpiquante pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Mathieu Patrice Boulpiquante was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
