Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King wants to clinch up but Rodriguez keeps it at a distance.
Rodriguez looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
King tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
King misses with a few strikes there.
Rodriguez is looking to counter the offense by King and move into the clinch.
A punch combination from King misses.

King has managed to clinch.
King is looking to break free of the clinch but Rodriguez has double underhooks.
Rodriguez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Rodriguez prevents King from breaking the clinch.
Rodriguez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as King walks away with a smile on his face. Rodriguez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
King is looking to clinch but Rodriguez is avoiding it.
King throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King fails to land with a series of punches.
It looked like Rodriguez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

King gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rodriguez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and King dives on top into guard.

King wanted to stand there but Rodriguez had control of the position.

King throws a strike but Rodriguez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

King throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Rodriguez stands up over King, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
King wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Rodriguez manages to pass to side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Rodriguez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
King wants to get back to his feet.

Rodriguez is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed King to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

King tries to clinch but Rodriguez is having none of it.

and Rodriguez counters with a series of strikes. King will be more careful next time no doubt.
King lands a jab-cross combination.
Mike King is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
King connects with a nice cross there... Rodriguez is looking wobbly and King recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Rodriguez to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - King jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
