Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mike Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Erickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jackson enables Erickson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jackson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Jackson stalks Erickson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Erickson's face. Erickson staggers backwards, shaken.

Erickson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Erickson is taking a breather. Jackson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Let's hope that Erickson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
