Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Navas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Collins is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Navas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Collins!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Navas throws a head kick that misses.
Collins feints the counter takedown.
Navas shoots for a double leg takedown but Collins sprawls well. He's pushed Navas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Collins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Navas changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Collins shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Navas napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Collins working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Collins decides to stand back up. Collins steps back and let's Navas get back to his feet.
Navas fails to land the takedown.
Navas is looking to clinch but Collins is avoiding it.
Despite the aggression on Collins's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Collins stuffs the takedown attempt from Navas. Navas gets slowly back to his feet.
Collins is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Navas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A head kick by Navas misses

and Collins counters with a shoot takedown. Navas fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Collins passes Navas's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Collins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Collins works his way into full mount!
Navas is breathing heavily.
Collins looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Navas tries to control the position but Collins now has his back.
Well, with Collins on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Navas is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Collins punishes Navas with strikes from the back mount.
I would not like to be Navas right now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Collins is working for a rear naked choke. Navas is not defending it well and Collins has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Navas refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Navas's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mike Collins!
