PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between jake mear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Gillespie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Gillespie!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
mear tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gillespie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gillespie takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Gillespie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. mear avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

mear has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Gillespie works to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gillespie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

mear has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gillespie is looking to get back to is feet but mear passes into side control.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to jake mear.
I think mear has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
