Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leslie Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kelly is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: London Calling. Paul Kelly acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Leslie Delgado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Kelly!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kelly rushes Delgado and presses him up against the cage.
Delgado is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Delgado works on Kelly's body with a couple of short punches.
Kelly content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Kelly successfully pulls guard.
Delgado with a nice head shot there.
Delgado landing some decent shots from guard.
Kelly is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kelly avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Delgado in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Delgado throws a big elbow that misses.

Kelly working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Delgado.
Kelly is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Delgado is looking to work some ground and pound but Kelly has wrist control.
Kelly tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Delgado postures up in Kelly's guard and throws a big left but Kelly blocks it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Kelly looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Delgado landing some decent shots from guard.
Delgado throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kelly works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Delgado in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Kelly fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Delgado sprawls well initially but Kelly persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Delgado is looking to control Kelly's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Delgado avoid being mounted?
Kelly trying to pass the guard but Delgado defending well.
Delgado slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Kelly drops back, looking for a kneebar! Delgado looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Delgado looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Delgado!

You can see the frustration on Kelly's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Delgado misses with the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kelly manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Delgado is thwarting Kelly's attempts to control the position.

Delgado decides to stand and escape the position.
Horrible takedown attempt by Delgado or perhaps it was just good defense by Kelly, which made it look bad.
Kelly slips a jab from Delgado.
Delgado avoids the head kick by Kelly.
Delgado misses with a series of wild punches.
Delgado misses with a few strikes there.
Kelly lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Delgado circles away quickly and effectively.
Delgado appears to be looking for a big counter.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kelly moves into range and clinches up with Delgado.
Delgado's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Delgado tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Delgado leaning against his opponent.
Delgado tries to throw a body punch but Kelly avoids it by throwing Delgado back against the cage.

Kelly lands a takedown into guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Delgado is looking to stand up but Kelly isn't so interested in that idea.
Kelly working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Paul Kelly will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kelly tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Leslie Delgado is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A head kick misses from Kelly.

Kelly looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Delgado tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Delgado has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Delgado has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Kelly wanted to stand there but Delgado had control of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kelly stands and steps away. Delgado gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Paul Kelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Delgado throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kelly.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kelly!


Delgado is rocked!


It looks like Leslie Delgado has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Kelly has cracked Delgado with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Kelly lands another huge swinging hook and Delgado tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Delgado, before Kelly can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Paul Kelly!
Paul Kelly spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
