Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rodger Morse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Valdez Sr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Valdez Sr changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Morse looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Morse pushes Valdez Sr away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Valdez Sr gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The referee asks Valdez Sr politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Valdez Sr prefers to stall for the moment though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Valdez Sr is riding his opponent, not letting Morse buck him off.
Valdez Sr thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Valdez Sr has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Valdez Sr is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Morse. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Oh Morse is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Valdez Sr is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Morse has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Valdez Sr is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Valdez Sr gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Valdez Sr gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Valdez Sr apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Valdez Sr lands a huge takedown. Morse is out but the ref is slow to react and Valdez Sr lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Morse lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
