Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Garland Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean OMalley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

OMalley dives in and scores a takedown into Nixon's guard.
OMalley controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nixon wants to get back to his feet but OMalley is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

OMalley gets to his feet. Nixon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

OMalley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

OMalley is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nixon defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nixon keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Nixon makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nixon.

OMalley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Let's hope that OMalley has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Nixon isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. OMalley stacks Nixon on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by OMalley!

OMalley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
OMalley postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
OMalley is trying to ground and pound but Nixon uses the momentary lack of control by OMalley to regain half guard.
OMalley is looking to stall here but Nixon recovers full guard.
OMalley wants to control from the top but Nixon keeps moving.

Nixon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

OMalley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nixon, up you get!

OMalley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nixon's guard.

OMalley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nixon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

OMalley has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Nixon uses from the top position.

Nixon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

OMalley pushes Nixon off and scrambles back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

OMalley gets a double leg takedown into Nixon's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as OMalley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
OMalley advances to half guard.
Nixon tries to regain full guard. Instead though, OMalley has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Nixon tries to lock up and control but OMalley gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
OMalley trying to control but Nixon is having none of it.

OMalley avoids the attempt from Nixon to control.

OMalley stands up from mount. Strange move.
Nixon misses the shot to the body.

OMalley forces Nixon back against the cage and clinches.
Nixon is working for takedown but OMalley is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Garland Nixon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nixon is trying to trip OMalley. He has hold of a leg but OMalley is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Nixon persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Nixon really is a fat lump.
Nixon wants to get up but he can't break OMalley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
OMalley is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from OMalley lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Nixon has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Nixon and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Sean OMalley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Nixon fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and OMalley has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Nixon tries to clinch there but OMalley circles away.

OMalley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nixon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Nixon postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for OMalley to stand up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Garland Nixon.
Well OMalley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
