Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miklo Velka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pope comes into the arena with For Whom The Bell Tolls blaring out of the sound system. Velka has chosen Cypress Hill - Insane In The Membrane as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope checks the leg kick.
Michael Pope seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Velka takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Velka lands a jab to the nose.
Some bone on bone action there as Pope checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Velka takes the fight into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Velka just misses with a elbow thrown towards Pope's brow.
Velka tries a knee to the head but Pope blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Velka throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Pope wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Velka has him pressed against the cage.

Velka misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pope.
Pope on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Pope breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Pope tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Velka tries to land a leg kick but Pope saw it coming and moves away.
Pope scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Miklo Velka has been cut.

Pope drops Velka with a beautiful combination! Velka stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Pope is looking for the KO!

Velka is rocked!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pope plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Velka swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Velka face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!

A very excited looking Michael Pope rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
