The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut there from Heilgeist.
Heilgeist looks to land a left hand but Patton moved out of range nicely.
Heilgeist throws a shot from downtown. Patton moves away and avoids it.
Heilgeist just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromPatton.
Heilgeist fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Patton manages to avoid it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Patton tries to pull guard but Heilgeist forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Heilgeist blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Patton is trying to pull guard but Heilgeist has him pressed against the cage.
Patton tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Heilgeist just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamie Patton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Patton has Heilgeist pressed against the cage, preventing Heilgeist from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Heilgeist's coach down at The House of Savage was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Heilgeist's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Patton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Patton avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Patton moves in looking to clinch but Heilgeist pushes him off.
Heilgeist misses with a hook.

Oooooh!!! Heilgeist has knocked Patton down with a huge combo! Heilgeist steps away and waves a wobbly Patton back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Patton is rocked!

It looks like Jamie Patton has been cut.
Heilgeist connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Patton covering up! Heilgeist comes in with a big uppercut and Patton goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
