Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Markus Burt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lars Mcgregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lars Mcgregor will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Markus Burt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lars Mcgregor!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mcgregor feints and as Burt raises his hands in defense, Mcgregor changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mcgregor pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Burt is keeping the position for now.
Mcgregor makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Mcgregor working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Mcgregor stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Mcgregor shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Burt really is a fat lump.
Mcgregor missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Burt tries to roll over but Mcgregor keeps him under control.

Mcgregor is looking for a kimura but Burt is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mcgregor to get the leverage.

Mcgregor seems to be looking for submissions.
Mcgregor is looking to advance position but Burt won't allow it.

Mcgregor is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Burt is just riding it out for now. Mcgregor eventually gives up the hold.
Mcgregor is keen to just control but Burt is a slippery customer.
Mcgregor prevents Burt from improving his position.
Mcgregor passes to side control.
Mcgregor is looking to take a break and control but Burt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Mcgregor tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mcgregor has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Burt struggling a bit here.

Mcgregor tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Mcgregor is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Burt knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Mcgregor thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Burt manages to get back to half guard.

Mcgregor is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Burt has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mcgregor is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Mcgregor wants to pass the guard but Burt is defending well.

Burt makes his way to full guard, as Mcgregor worked for a kimura.
Mcgregor won't allow Burt to sweep him here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mcgregor decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Burt, up you get!
Mcgregor connects with a nice looking jab.

Mcgregor gets a double leg takedown into Burt's guard.
Mcgregor not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mcgregor passes Burt's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Mcgregor is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Burt is just riding it out for now. Mcgregor eventually gives up the hold.
Burt is trying to control but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mcgregor thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Mcgregor wants to work for an arm triangle but Burt is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Burt stuffs the takedown attempt from Mcgregor. Mcgregor gets slowly back to his feet.
A combination from Mcgregor does no damage.
Mcgregor misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Burt to counter with a crisp jab.
A shot to the body from Mcgregor misses
and Burt counters with a nice body kick.

Burt dives in and scores a takedown into Mcgregor's guard.
Burt with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Burt throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mcgregor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Burt postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Burt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mcgregor on the ground.

Mcgregor manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Burt manages to get himself to full guard.

Mcgregor sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Burt's guard.

Mcgregor wants to take a breather but Burt is having none of it.
Burt is trying to maintain the position but Mcgregor is very close to passing his half guard.

Mcgregor is looking for a kimura here.
Burt is looking to control Mcgregor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Burt avoid being mounted?

Mcgregor looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
