Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leslie Houston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Xtc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Xtc will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Houston enables Xtc to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Houston manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Houston is on top in guard.
Xtc is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Xtc has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Houston has passed into side control.
Xtc is trying to control Houston's posture but Houston avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

I really don't envy Xtc right now.
Houston lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Houston's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Houston connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Xtc to escape the position.
Xtc wants to control his opponent's hands but Houston gets his hands free.
Xtc really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Houston. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Xtc is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Houston has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Houston is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Houston gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Houston gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Houston apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Houston shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Xtc defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Xtc gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Houston to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Houston looks up at the clock and then as Xtc takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Houston smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
