Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Donnell Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Leo Landers!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Landers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Landers is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Santos's half guard.
Landers wants to free his trapped foot but Santos is holding on for dear life with his legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Landers is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Santos defends it well.

Landers goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Santos is on top in guard.

Santos has gone for a leg lock! Landers slips out almost immediately though and dives into Santos's guard.

Santos tries to kick Landers off but Landers keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Landers is keen to just control but Santos is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Landers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Leo Landers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch combination from Santos misses.

Santos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Santos drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Landers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Santos has Landers in his guard.

Well, if Landers is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Landers throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Landers tries to free his leg and advance position but Santos is retaining full guard.
Landers wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving.
Santos trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Santos might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Landers dives in and scores a takedown into Santos's guard.
Landers wants to pass the guard but Santos is keeping the position.
Landers is pushing down on Santos's leg trying to pass to half guard. Santos is fighting to maintain full guard but Landers has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Landers takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Santos is looking for a sweep. Landers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Santos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Landers on the ground.
Landers stalling away here and it's allowed Santos to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Landers fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Santos checks it well.
Santos tries to close the distance and clinch but Landers swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Landers throws a lazy body kick
and Santos counters with a left to the body.

Landers postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Landers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Let's hope that Landers has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Santos is trying to control Landers's posture but Landers avoids it.
Landers tries to stand but Santos controls the position and pulls Landers into his guard.
Santos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Landers manages to get himself to full guard.


Santos drops back, looking for a kneebar! Landers looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Landers looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Landers!


Landers is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Santos is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

You can see the frustration on Santos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Leo Landers is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Landers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
