Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stu Priest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brando Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brando Carlson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stu Priest!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brando Carlson!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Priest's waist but Priest gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carlson off to one side.

Carlson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Priest napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Priest is looking to reverse the position.
Priest manages to get back to half guard.

Priest is defending against the submission attempts here by Carlson.
Priest tries to roll over but Carlson keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Priest desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Priest slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Priest pulls Carlson in close to his closed guard and prevents Carlson from doing any damage or advancing position.

Carlson looking to sit in guard and control but Priest gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Priest's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carlson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Priest's guard.

Carlson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Priest is controlling Carlson's posture.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Priest holds on and takes a little breather.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee asks Carlson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Carlson prefers to stall for the moment though.

You can see the frustration on Priest's face as Carlson controls the position.
Carlson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Priest keeps working.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Priest looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Carlson slips a jab from Priest.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

and Priest counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Carlson!
Carlson is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carlson wants to control but Priest postures up.
Carlson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Priest is working Carlson over with some ground and pound from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brando Carlson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Carlson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Carlson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Carlson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Carlson is trying to break the clinch but Priest is controlling him.

Priest has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Carlson regains guard immediately.

Carlson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Priest's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Priest's back!

Carlson looking to break Priest's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Priest remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Carlson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Carlson slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Carlson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Priest doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Priest manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Carlson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
