Koks is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by DMX - We right here. Ali Roumani has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ali Roumani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rafal Koks!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roumani misses with a double jab.
Koks thuds his right hand into Roumani's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
A looping hook to the body misses from Roumani. Koks does a little dance to reset his feet.
Roumani swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Roumani looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Koks throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Koks tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Koks defending well as Roumani loads up on a big left hand.
Roumani takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Koks lands with a cross.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koks is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Roumani.

Roumani is looking to counter punch.
Roumani looks to land a right hand but Koks moved out of range.
Koks is looking to slow Roumani down with leg kicks.

Roumani bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Koks's head backwards.
Roumani throws a hook but Koks avoids it easily.

Koks rushes Roumani and presses him up against the cage.
Roumani has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Roumani tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Roumani breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Koks takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Roumani counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Koks can do anything to dispel that myth.
Koks is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Roumani is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Koks defends it well.
Koks wants to get back to his feet.
Koks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Roumani. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Koks controlling the position for now.
Koks is looking for a sweep. Roumani is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Roumani seems to be working for a kimura but Koks defends the submission attempt.
Roumani looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Koks is refusing to be controlled, as Roumani sits in half guard.
Koks won't allow Roumani to pass to mount.

Roumani looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Koks is trying to stand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Koks waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Roumani.
Koks feints a jab promting Roumani to slip. Koks then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Roumani slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Koks!
Roumani throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Roumani uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Koks.
Roumani is looking to counter punch.
Koks throws a jab when Roumani was well out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rafal Koks dominated that round.
That's time! Roumani's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Koks throws the kick towards the body but Roumani avoids it.

Koks is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Roumani misses with the head strike.
Roumani looking to slow down the pace here.
Roumani drops down looking for an ankle pick but Koks pulls his leg out and moves away.
Roumani lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

and Koks takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Koks fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Roumani.

Koks misses with a straight right.
Roumani steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Koks. That one must have hurt.
Koks swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Roumani counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Roumani checks a leg kick nicely.
Koks moves out of range of the strikes.
Koks uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Roumani has time to react.
The fighters circling - Koks throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nice sprawl there from Koks as Roumani shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ali Roumani. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Koks uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Roumani.
A slow jab from Koks misses its intended target.
Rafal Koks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Koks feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Roumani's calf.
Roumani stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Koks.
Koks has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Roumani not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Koks is looking to advance position but Roumani has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Koks wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Roumani is looking for a choke. Koks gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Koks manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Roumani escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Koks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Koks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Roumani looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Koks has picked Roumani up and slammed him! Roumani can't keep hold of the triangle and Koks manages to pass to side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Rafal Koks will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Koks throws a leg kick which misses Roumani's front leg but catches the back leg as Roumani tries to avoid it.
Koks stalks Roumani and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Roumani's face. Roumani staggers backwards, shaken.
Koks loads up on a big right hand but Roumani slips the punch.
Rafal Koks is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Koks misses with a few strikes there.
Roumani attempts a counter takedown but Koks avoids it well and moves away.
Koks throws a sloppy head kick and Roumani moves out of range easily.
Roumani throws a hook but Koks blocks it.
Koks appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Koks avoids the body shot from Roumani.
Koks moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Roumani moves into range and connects with a jab.
Roumani misses with a takedown attempt - Koks sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

I've got Koks winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
