Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Irving Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karvel Marken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Irving Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Karvel Marken!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marken is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Irving Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Marken counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brown won't be happy with that.
We've been hearing good reports from Brown's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Marken is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Brown can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Marken is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Brown is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Marken gets his way!

Marken tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marken has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Marken is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Brown has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Brown!

That has opened up Karvel Marken's cut even more.
Brown tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Marken's elbow.
Marken is trying to maintain a safe position but Brown gets an underhook and turns Marken into the cage.

Brown throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Marken blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Brown pushes off an throws an elbow but Marken leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brown using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Marken has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Brown got a little sloppy there for a moment and Marken has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brown has managed to get both his arms back between Marken's legs - danger averted.

Marken has his foot on Brown's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brown works his way back into a safe position though.

Marken has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brown can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
