The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stamatis.

Gracie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Stamatis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gracie lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Anderson Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stamatis throws an overhand right that lands on Gracie's shoulder, as Gracie tries to avoid the shot.
Stamatis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Gracie moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Stamatis goes down! Can Gracie finish him!?

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gracie is pushing down on Stamatis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stamatis is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stamatis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.
Gracie scores with a big shot! Stamatis's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Stamatis! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
