PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Denis Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshihiro Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kang might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Super Korean. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Denis Kang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshihiro Akiyama!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kang closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Akiyama keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Akiyama has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kang is working away from the top position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

It looks like Yoshihiro Akiyama has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Denis Kang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kang fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Akiyama sprawls well initially but Kang persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kang is pressing down on Akiyama's thigh, looking to free his foot. Akiyama is holding on for now.

Kang changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Akiyama looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
