Aldo has chosen "Do You Really Wanna Hurt Me" by Culture Club as his entrance music. Isaiah Guzman has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Guzman's head backwards.
Guzman throws a head kick that Aldo semi-blocks.
Guzman dodges the punch combination from Aldo.
Aldo throws a body punch but Guzman moves out of range.
Guzman changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Aldo throws a big shot that misses.

Guzman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Aldo, pushing him back against the cage.

Guzman manages to break the clinch.

Aldo closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Guzman tries for a takedown. No joy.
Aldo tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Aldo tries to work over Guzman's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A head punch on the inside from Aldo fails to land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Guzman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Aldo smiles and moves away.
Guzman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Aldo is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Aldo scores with a nice hook to the head.
Aldo is looking to break free of the clinch but Guzman has double underhooks.
Guzman tries for a takedown but Aldo manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Isaiah Guzman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Guzman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Aldo lands a jab.

Guzman is rocked!
Bruised Rib Aldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Aldo ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Guzman's jaw. Guzman's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Aldo does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bruised Rib Aldo!
