Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pomfrey fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fresco sprawls well initially but Pomfrey persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fresco is trying to get back to full guard.
Fresco is trying to maintain the position but Pomfrey is very close to passing his half guard.
Fresco wants to improve his position but Pomfrey is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Pomfrey counters with a shoot takedown. Fresco fights it but they end up in guard.
Pomfrey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fresco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Fresco has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pomfrey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Fresco manages to get back to half guard.
Fresco is looking to get back to full guard here but Pomfrey has managed to pass to side control instead.
Fresco bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Fresco thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Fresco drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pomfrey dives on top into guard.

Fresco controls Pomfrey momentarily but Pomfrey frees himself.

Fresco looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pomfrey passes into half guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pomfrey sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Pomfrey won't allow Fresco to sweep him here.

Pomfrey wants to control from the top but Fresco keeps moving.

Fresco working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pomfrey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pomfrey manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Fresco gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Fresco wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Pomfrey is now in half guard.
Fresco is trying to control but can't.
Fresco makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fresco.

Pomfrey has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Fresco to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Pomfrey is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Fresco pulls down on the head and he's put Pomfrey to sleep! This one is all over!
