Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark McCain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tonothan Kuhula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCain comes to the cage accompanied by Hate by Jay-Z. Kuhula has chosen Native Drums from the South Pacific as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark McCain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tonothan Kuhula!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuhula scores with a hook.

McCain fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kuhula, pushing him back against the cage.
McCain keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Kuhula's efforts to push away.

Kuhula breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McCain keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice defenses there by Kuhula.
No joy there for Kuhula, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Good exchange - Kuhula coming out on top.
McCain takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
McCain swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Kuhula closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kuhula lands in his opponent's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McCain has his hands on Kuhula's head, controlling the position.
McCain keeping moving, preventing Kuhula from controlling successfully.

Kuhula has gone for a leg lock! McCain slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kuhula's guard.
Kuhula looking for a sweep. Not yet Kuhula, not yet.
McCain content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
McCain is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kuhula can do anything to dispel that myth.
McCain wants to control from the top but Kuhula keeps moving.
McCain is really struggling to control Kuhula but he's trying to hold on to the position.
McCain might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kuhula wants to stand and escape but McCain is having none of it.

Kuhula is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McCain lands a couple of elbows.

Kuhula is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McCain is aware though and is defending well.

McCain definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kuhula uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McCain.
McCain tries to bum rush Kuhula with a series of wild strikes but Kuhula uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kuhula scores with a jab.
McCain will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kuhula avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kuhula jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Kuhula feints and as McCain raises his hands in defense, Kuhula changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kuhula wants to control from the top but McCain keeps moving.
McCain is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McCain uses his free foot to push down on Kuhula's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kuhula.
Kuhula tries to reverse the position but McCain maintains control.
Kuhula's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Kuhula regains half guard.
Kuhula is trying to stand up here but McCain is controlling him well.

McCain is looking to take a break and control but Kuhula is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

McCain wants to pass to mount but Kuhula is defending the position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. McCain lands a nice short elbow.


It looks like Tonothan Kuhula has been cut.
McCain is looking to take a break and control but Kuhula is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kuhula pushes McCain off looking to stand but McCain dives back in and keeps control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McCain thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kuhula tries to kick McCain off but McCain keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
McCain throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tonothan Kuhula will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


McCain throws a right hand that misses
and Kuhula counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kuhula scores with a hook.

Kuhula drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kuhula working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
A lull in the action here as Kuhula stalls from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kuhula throwing strikes but McCain manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Kuhula is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McCain working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
McCain is looking to take a break and control but Kuhula is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kuhula is pushing McCain's head away, looking to escape. McCain manages to hold on to the position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McCain looks up at the clock and then as Kuhula takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, McCain smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
McCain lands a few punches from side control.
Kuhula takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.


That has opened up Tonothan Kuhula's cut even more.
McCain fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mark McCain overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kuhula trying to remain calm as McCain controls from the top position.
Kuhula is trying to buck McCain off.
Kuhula struggling a bit here.
McCain looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kuhula is avoiding damage well.
Kuhula is looking to reverse the position.

McCain swings around for an armbar but Kuhula sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into McCain's guard.

Kuhula not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Kuhula postures up in McCain's guard and throws a big left but McCain blocks it.
Kuhula sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McCain's guard.
Kuhula tries to stand but can't do so whilst McCain controls his leg.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kuhula stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows McCain to get to his feet.

McCain shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McCain showed some decent athleticism there.
Kuhula looks like he's trying to stand up.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McCain fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kuhula looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Kuhula digs a good body shot into McCain's ribs.

Tonothan Kuhula showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

McCain swings away with a body shot that misses
and Kuhula counters with a three punch combo that has McCain backing up. McCain nods at Kuhula to acknowledge the strikes.
Kuhula lands a straight punch to the body, keeping McCain at a distance.
Tonothan Kuhula seems to be getting the better of the standup.
McCain throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kuhula avoids a kick to the body.
Kuhula scores with a punch to the head.
Kuhula dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Kuhula drops McCain with a beautiful combination! McCain stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kuhula is looking for the KO!


McCain is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kuhula lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tonothan Kuhula!
