Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vito Gill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Simon Scott!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gill scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Scott has one foot on Gill's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Gill really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Scott clinches with his opponent.
Gill can't break the clinch.
Scott prevents a body shot from Gill.
Gill has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Scott lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Vito Gill has been cut.
Gill working hard to break the clinch.
Scott prevents Gill from breaking the clinch.
Gill misses with a knee strike.
A bit of stalling here from Scott.
Gill looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Scott gets a takedown into half guard.

Gill is positioning himself well to prevent Scott advancing to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott trying to control from half guard but Gill is working away.
Gill regains full guard. Nicely done.
Gill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gill has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Gill is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Scott tries to free his leg and advance position but Gill is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gill controls Scott momentarily but Scott frees himself.
Gill seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Scott must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Scott trying to control but Gill is working from the bottom.
Gill has momentary wrist control but Scott slips an elbow through the middle.


Gill is rocked!
Scott is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Oh Gill is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Scott stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Scott shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Gill is on queer street and Scott is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Simon Scott!
