The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Maadala is staying active underneath Gracie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gracie slips a nice elbow through Maadala's hands, connecting with Maadala's forehead.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gracie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Maadala misses with a hook. Gracie ducked under it nicely.

Gracie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Gracie goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Maadala has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gracie but great work by Maadala.
Gracie manages to work his way to half guard, despite Maadala's best efforts.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Maadala is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gracie has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Maadala is looking to defend but Gracie has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Maadala! Gracie pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Maadala taps out and this one is all over!
