The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mewes staying out of range there.
Mewes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Loredo.
Loredo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Mewes swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mewes fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
A telegraphed right hand from Mewes misses the target.
Mewes throws a poor cross that misses
and Loredo counters with a straight right hand.
Danga de danga de dang - Loredo scores with a four punch combination!
A jab from Loredo does it's job there.

Mewes is rocked!
Mewes lands with a straight right. Loredo didn't see that one coming.
Oh Mewes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Loredo throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Mewes's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Loredo dives in looking to finish as Mewes flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Loredo's strikes! Loredo is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Mewes's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Mewes was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
