Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Isaiah Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Marcus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Isaiah Myers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Marcus!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Eliza Hachem and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marcus shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Myers actively working from the bottom here.
Marcus throwing shots but Myers is blocking nicely.
Marcus seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Myers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Marcus sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Myers defending well though.

Myers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marcus throws an elbow that misses. Myers uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Marcus's guard. Nice move by Myers!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Marcus holds on and takes a little breather.

Marcus manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Marcus should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Marcus is trying to push Myers away but Myers has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Marcus tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Myers avoids it.
Marcus wants to break free but Myers has control.
Marcus goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Marcus jumps guard.
Myers has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Marcus is proving hard to escape from.
Myers is standing up over Marcus. Marcus looks to escape but Myers dives into side control.
Marcus wants to control but Myers postures up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Marcus tries to escape but Myers is in control.
Marcus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Myers wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Myers stands up and beckons Marcus to his feet.
Marcus moves in looking to clinch but Myers pushes him off.
As Marcus tries to get set, Myers tries to push him back and clinch up but Marcus manages to avoid the attempt.

Marcus closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Myers's guard.
Marcus looks winded!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Marcus wants to pass the guard but Myers is keeping the position.
Marcus throws a big elbow that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Marcus dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Marcus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Myers gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Marcus is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Myers's half guard.
Myers is concentrating on defense, preventing Marcus from advancing position.
Marcus looks to land a strike but Myers avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Marcus throws an elbow that misses. Myers uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Marcus's guard. Nice move by Myers!

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Marcus clinches up with Myers and pushes him back against the cage.

Myers gets control of Marcus's arms and successfully pulls guard. Myers will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Myers tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Myers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Marcus wanted to stand there but Myers had control of the position.
Marcus throws a big right hand that misses.
Marcus has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Myers is proving hard to escape from.
Marcus in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Marcus is breathing heavily.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Marcus moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Marcus decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Marcus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Myers trying to control but Marcus postures up.
Marcus wants to pass to mount but Myers is defending the position.
Marcus thows a huge punch but Myers dodges it nicely.

Myers is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Marcus's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Marcus's back!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Myers is not going to allow Marcus to sit and survive in this position.
Marcus is really stuck here.

Sam Marcus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Myers blocks a head kick by Marcus.

Marcus shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Myers has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Marcus is working away from the top position though.
Marcus prevents Myers from improving his position.
Myers has his hands clasped together around Marcus's back. He's all about the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Myers has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Marcus is looking to stall here but Myers recovers full guard.
Marcus loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Myers is pulling down on Marcus's head to control his posture.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Myers enables Marcus to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Myers manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Marcus won't allow Myers to sweep him here.
Marcus missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Myers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Myers is adopting a defensive guard.
Marcus throws a strike but Myers rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Myers wants to get up but he can't break Marcus's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Myers connects with a couple of short punches.
Marcus avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Myers avoids the head kick by Marcus.
Marcus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Marcus doesn't manage to clinch there - Myers circles away.
Isaiah Myers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Marcus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Myers paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Marcus slaps away a takedown attempt from Myers, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Myers gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Marcus to score an easy takedown into full guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Myers is on top in guard.

Myers wants to get up but he can't break Marcus's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Myers cracks Marcus with a solid left hand.
Marcus is looking to sweep but instead, Myers has passed into half guard.
Marcus wants to control but Myers is keeping busy.
Marcus has a hand on Myers's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Myers takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Myers is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

And that's the end of the fight!
Sam Marcus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Marcus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
