The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warfield swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Warfield tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Katajaniemi swivels and escapes.
Warfield misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Warfield fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Katajaniemi sprawls well initially but Warfield persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Warfield wants to pass the guard but Katajaniemi is defending well.
Katajaniemi wants to control but Warfield is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Warfield is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Katajaniemi is looking for a sweep. Warfield is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Warfield is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Katajaniemi is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Warfield wants to take Katajaniemi's back here but Katajaniemi is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Katajaniemi tries to hold on but Warfield postures up.
